While the first No Name release from Compass Box was its peatiest Whiskey to date, No Name 2 is a somewhat more refined expression, mirrored by the slightly more colourful bottle decoration. Dont be fooled, its still a fabulously peaty treat marrying Island single malts, the first a sherry-matured Caol Ila, the second from Talisker aged in recharred American oak hogsheads. Finally, single malt from Clynelish was added alongside a mystery Highland malt blend which was aged in French oak. At 48.9% ABV, its packed full of peat without being overpowering, letting some of the more delicate nuances shine through.
